Colour blindness check

Do these two colours still read apart to a colour-blind reader?

The pair you rely on, put through the three dichromacies with the contrast measured in each. Catches the red and green status chips that become one swatch.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, at the size body text is actually set.
1.46:1 How far apart the two are for a reader with typical colour vision.
  • protanopia, no red cones #535460 / #8d8c26 2.1:1
  • deuteranopia, no green cones #4b4065 / #98a526 3.48:1
  • tritanopia, no blue cones #1d7174 / #d32626 1.11:1

how to use it

  1. Give the two colours you are using to mean different things.
  2. Read the simulated pair for each of the three dichromacies.
  3. A contrast under about 1.5:1 in any row means the two states are indistinguishable.

what this page cannot do

Two swatches are not a page. The extension applies the same simulation to the whole live page, so a chart legend, an icon and a focus ring are judged where they actually sit.
